Tiptoe Through Tulip Town!
Tulip Town is one of the largest draws for tourists and locals alike during tulip season – typically the month of April, but it opens early if tulips are out (opened March 20th in 2015). It has the best photo opportunities and is worth the entrance fee just for this reason. Tulip Town purposely plants a variety of tulip colors in a dazzling rainbow display, so that even the most amateur photographers or phone cameras will have no problem capturing the photo of their trip.
Try to attend on a weekday, and park in the lot. There are attendants directing traffic along Bradshaw Road, as there can be a lot of traffic. I recommend the lot as it is just easier to go with the flow rather than trying to beat the system finding a driveway or roadside spot where you will be towed. The parking lot itself is sculptured and beautiful.
There is an entrance fee to get inside of $5 per person and kids 6 and under are free, but well worth the picture opportunities alone. An enormous indoor display of tulip varieties greets you upon entering, and you can order tulips for later delivery in the Fall right there. Shops inside Tulip Town have everything from local art and crafts to souvenirs.
Here is a video of Lawrence Eichman, Pacific Northwest glass sculptor at work inside Tulip Town. He will be there all through April 2013!
There are a few drink and hot food vendors and places to sit down and relax inside and out. Kites are flying on most days, attracting people from all around. And trolley rides take you through the fields if you want a better view.
I just went there (as I do every year) with visiting friends Raul and Giovanna. You can’t help but get good pictures at this beautiful place!!

Fields can be wet, muddy and slippery after a rain, so please use caution and wear proper footwear. And PLEASE don’t walk in the rows of flowers. Stay on the paths as the plants are easily damaged.
