It would be extremely rare when we don’t recommend home inspections by qualified and licensed inspectors when buying homes.  Inspections are intended to verify the home is sound and livable by identifying issues and causes. They can range from attic mold to foundation cracks due to improper drainage systems, from faulty siding to outdated electrical systems.  Inspectors usually provide a detailed report of condition and itemized issues.  The inspection cost is a responsibility of the buyer, and as such, the inspector carefully reviews the findings with the buyer along with a comprehensive report including pictures and recommendations.

We always attend the buyer inspections, and have gained knowledge over time as a result.  Because the buyer is paying for this service, typically from $375-450 depending on the home, we also ensure the buyer is present and accompanies the inspector during the visit.

Don said, “It started out overcast, but turned into another beautiful Skagit Valley day – especially for an inspection of the buyer’s new home.  Rick was very well versed in new construction, and both the buyers and I were pleased with his work.”

Whether it is very old or brand new, home inspections are a critical factor in many home purchases, and can make the difference between a good buying decision and a bad one!
