If you’ve been there, you know – the prepared food at the Skagit Valley Co-op in Mount Vernon ROCKS!  Hot meals of all varieties, a clean salad bar with great selections, and amazing dessert selections. All this topped off with fresh coffees and teas brewed for you in a large heavy mug.  Eat next to the windows watching the world go by, or dine upstairs in a casual setting at your own pace.  Most food items are sold by weight, so you can order just how much you want to eat without wasting food.

While you’re there, check out the grocery with an amazing selection of organic foods.  I must say, I find the organic fruits and vegetables a very reasonable cost as compared to grocery chain pricing. A terrific wine selection as well!

(DON’S TIP: The Co-op’s private label vanilla ice cream is the closest I have tasted to home-churned ice cream. Shhh!! Don’t tell or it will be all gone when I get there!)

Don’t ponder getting yet your Co-op card – just do it.  Did you know your card works at other co-ops?  It’s the right thing to do!
